UFCW Local 81 is working every day to increase wages and benefits, improve health care, negotiate better working conditions and create secure futures for 2,000 union members and their families in Puget Sound.
Although the majority of the people we represent work in retail food, Local 81 members have jobs in a wide range of fields, including administrative, aerospace manufacturing, trucking, warehousing, IT services, food and poultry processing, commercial manufacturing, garment manufacturing and other industries. We can represent anyone, in any industry, in any job skill set.
We do more than negotiate your contract. We stand beside you if you are injured on the job and need Workers Compensation benefits, if you are treated unfairly, or if you are facing unemployment.
We have full-time occupational health and safety specialists on staff, as well as experts who help our members access their health care and pension benefits. Our communications and legal departments are here to help you understand and navigate the issues that affect you in the workplace, as well as other laws and policies that may impact you and your family.
We also support you with resources to advance in your job through flexible training, apprenticeships and professional degree programs.
